prostep ivip Symposium: ASAP and HCLTech present innovative services

Electrification and digitalization are fundamentally changing the automotive development process / ASAP and HCLTech are driving the transformation to the software-defined vehicle

The ASAP Group and its parent company HCLTech presented their innovative services and products for the transformation of the automotive industry to the software-defined vehicle at the prostep ivip Symposium in Berlin on May 13 and 14, 2025. The experts from ASAP and HCLTech explained at the BCC Berlin Congress Center how they contribute to the optimization of product development, application management, virtual validation and nationwide rollouts. "The electrification and digitalization of automobiles is fundamentally changing the vehicle development process. This is because the most important innovations are software-driven. ASAP and HCLTech are driving this change with their extensive expertise in automotive engineering and other industries. Partners and customers benefit from more efficient processes and lower costs," said Martin Ott, COO of the ASAP Group, at the prostep ivip symposium.

The services provided by ASAP and HCLTech in the area of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), for example, contribute to this added value. They include professional, technical and strategic support when changing or modernizing PLM systems. The AI-supported PLMate solution, for example, provides specific assistance by automating tasks, ensuring data integrity and providing detailed results analyses. It can be easily integrated into platforms such as Azure AI and AWS Bedrock and can also be operated as an on-premises model in which the software is installed within a company's own IT infrastructure.

ASAP and HCLTech also offer solutions in the field of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), which enable the potential of existing platforms to be exploited and vehicles to be supported in the best possible way throughout their entire lifecycle. The ALMate tool, for example, uses artificial intelligence (AI) to contribute to the scalability, modularity and user-friendliness of ALM tools and systems. ALMate supports important functions such as quality analysis and the generation of requirements and test cases. The experts from ASAP and HCLTech help with implementation, application and version updates – across departments and on site at partners' and customers' premises if required.

With TestSphere, ASAP and HCLTech also presented a modular and scalable test framework at the prostep ivip Symposium that optimizes test benches in the areas of model-in-the-loop (MIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) as well as for vehicle tests and, among other things, allows users to continue using the systems they are familiar with. This end-to-end validation system improves the efficiency and precision of validation through the use of a test-specific, AI-supported keyword-driven testing framework.

Just like the cloud-based solution XIL Digital Twin, TestSphere thus contributes to a faster market launch of vehicles. XIL Digital Twin is characterized by a uniform platform for MIL/SIL/HIL simulation for the validation of embedded software.

The Plant in a Box framework, which ASAP and HCLTech also presented at the Berlin congress on industrial digital transformation, accelerates the implementation of MES/MOM solutions (Manufacturing Execution System / Manufacturing Operations Management) in several plants. Plant in a Box easily integrates various templates for this purpose. This reduces implementation costs for manufacturing processes and accelerates ROI (return on investment).

"The prostep ivip Symposium provided a good opportunity to present our innovative, end-to-end services with a focus on mobile topics of the future and to exchange ideas with other experts. On the one hand, the congress made it clear how comprehensive the transformation of the automotive industry is, and on the other, it showed that this transformation offers numerous opportunities for everyone involved. ASAP and HCLTech are increasingly important players for OEMs and Tier 1s thanks to their complementary expertise and capacities," explained Martin Ott, COO of the ASAP Group.
